Czech market research enjoys a tradition that dates to before the fall of the Czech
communist regime during the Velvet Revolution of 1989. The country’s marketing
field surveys began in the late 1940s by the Prague subsidiary of the Gallup
organization and later by the Institute for Public Opinion Polls. Under the
communists, only limited research was allowed.
There was, however, a positive side to this time period: the acquisition of
theoretical knowledge and the practical experience gained from genuine market
research conducted on consumers and others.
The knowledge of AGMA reflects long-time experience in this field of research:
it was one of the first private marketing research firms formed after 1989. Our professional career started in the 1960´s.
